Step into the spotlight this summer! Our one-week Musical Theatre Intensive is a high-energy, immersive day program for middle school campers who love to sing, dance, act—or are eager to try it all.

Program Overview:

  • Throughout the week, campers will train with experienced teaching artists in voice, dance, and acting, building foundational skills while growing confidence and creativity. Each day blends technique, collaboration, and play, giving campers the chance to explore musical theatre in a supportive and exciting environment.

Campers will:

  • Develop vocal technique and ensemble singing skills
  • Learn choreography and movement for the musical theatre stage
  • Strengthen acting fundamentals, storytelling, and character development
  • Build confidence, collaboration, and stage presence

The week culminates in a cabaret-style showcase performance, where campers present musical theatre songs and scenes for family and friends. This final performance celebrates both individual growth and ensemble work, allowing campers to share what they’ve learned in a fun, low-pressure setting.

Whether campers are seasoned performers or stepping onstage for the first time, this intensive offers a joyful, challenging, and inspiring introduction to musical theatre!

Meet our Staff:

Christopher Chappelle

Christopher Chappelle is a lyric baritone with degrees in Vocal Performance from Morgan State University and Towson University. He has performed with the Maryland Lyric Opera Company and is an active chorus member with Bach in Baltimore. Christopher also serves as a cantor and directs the Handbell Choir at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Laurel, MD.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Christopher has taught music to students from pre-K through 12th grade, including at St. Vincent Pallotti High School and Landon School. During the summer, he shares his passion for music with young children at Landon Summer’s Preschool Day Camp, introducing them to music through nursery rhymes, instrument play, and even sign language and color recognition through song. He is especially excited to inspire older students who share his love for the stage in Landon Summer's new musical theater intensive workshop.
