What to bring: Backpack, comfortable clothing, sneakers, hat, snacks, lunch with drink, sunscreen and bug spray (labeled with name), and a water bottle. Bathing suit, towel, or change of clothes may be required for certain activities. A more detailed list of what to bring will be emailed prior to each week.

Campers will dive into the rich culture, history, and beauty of the DC metro region through exciting daily visits to museums, parks, and historic sites. Each day brings new discovery--from exploring fascinating museums like the Museum of the Army and visiting Frederick Douglas House, to touring the charming streets of Georgetown and Old Town Alexandria. Campers have the opportunity learn about the people, places, and events that shaped the region while enjoying time outdoors and discovering local neighborhoods. Through hands-on learning and plenty of exploration, campers will gain a deeper understanding of the region's impact on American history while building curiosity and creating memories along the way! 

**Activities and location subject to change based on availability and weather. More details regarding specific activities will be available prior to camp beginning. Waivers may be required for certain activities.

Meet our Staff:

Justin Roman

Justin Roman is a Spanish and Ethics Teacher at the Landon School. He has been working there for 10 years and prior to teaching he was the school counselor. In the summer, he has run various camps over the years including DC explorers, community service, leadership, and DC explorers camp. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, reading, and watching sports.

Fun fact: Justin enjoys learning about leadership through books, seminars, and through conversations with people who lead.
