What to Bring: Instrument (or Color Guard flag, shorts, athletic top and shoes, sunscreen, water bottle, pencils, snacks, and lunch with a drink

Prerequisite: Must have played their instrument for 2+ years; Color Guard- no prerequisite, but dance experience is a plus!

It's time to take your skills to the field and join the Landon Marching Band! We are looking for woodwinds, brass, percussionists, guitar/bass/synth players, and dancers to join the team! Students will learn how to march and play their instrument and/or spin flag with the Color Guard! We will explore stands/pep band tunes, parade marching, and conclude with a simple halftime show that all students will leave feeling confident in their performance! Whether you are a seasoned musician, dancer, or new to marching band, there is a place for YOU on this team!

Meet our Staff:

Leah Prescott

Leah Prescott is a band director, music technology teacher, saxophonist, and woodwind specialist based in Montgomery County, Maryland. Prescott has a passion for introducing the world of jazz to her students; whether it is rehearsing the jazz band, playing a jazz piece with the concert band, or performing professionally, Prescott is eager to share her love of jazz with others.

Prescott received her BA in Jazz Studies and her BA in Music Education from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She received her MMEd in Music Education from University of Georgia. Prescott currently teaches band at Landon School in Bethesda, Maryland.

Fun Fact: Prescott has presented at music educator conferences such as GMEA and MMEA.
