Flag Star Football is an organization that loves flag football, loves working with kids and focuses all of their work on two common goals: GETTING BETTER and HAVING FUN. Flag Star coaches are great educators, great people and are singly focused on the development – personally, athletically, socially – of their players. We’re here to play football and we’re here to get better at football, but none of that can happen if we’re not also becoming better people and better teammates. Visit flagstarfootball.com for more information.

Coach bios:

Carl Ehrlich is the Founder and CEO of Flag Star Football. After captaining the Harvard Football team and playing “professionally” in Spain, Carl took off his cleats, put on a whistle and slowly, slowly, alongside a team of incredible people, built Flag Star into what it is today.

Aaron Hutchins is a former division one footballer at Howard University and has seamlessly made the jump into coaching. As a full-time member of the Flag Star team, Aaron is a leader, a teacher and, more times than not, the last person to leave the field, playing catch and making up games with whoever is ready to keep playing.

Richard Nana is the most tenured, most knowledgeable, and most revered coach at Flag Star. Also a coach in our Bethesda league, Richard brings energy and enthusiasm every single day. He also brings us sage wisdom, maturity, and tales of what the world was like before smartphones.

Kris Bohnenstiehl is one of our newer staff members but has quickly become part of the family. Hailing from the West Coast, Kris brings the vibes and juju to camp every week. Kris leaves nobody behind and that’s just one of his innumerable qualities.

Anthony Greenfield is what some would call a rising star. The self proclaimed “Strongest Coach” in Flag Star, he has quickly become one of our most requested members of staff. He is impossible to miss on the field and will make sure every player feels they’re a celebrated part of the team.

Kemo Sabi is one of our finest coaches. His commitment shows, and he’s the person to turn to for new ideas, schemes and plays. He has become one of our own and we are proud to have him on the team.

Any and every Flag Star player will know Jake Genachowski. A DC Native, Jake played football at Maret before moving on to play WR (and PAT holder!) at Kenyon College. Jake went on to coach football at Maret and –16 years after walking into that school – finally left to become Director of Summer Camps here at Flag Star. And we love him

When we first saw Tyler Miller’s luscious head of hair as it cascaded out of his motorcycle helmet. The guy had flow like Trevor Lawrence... and throws like him, too! He was a cowboy then and he’s a cowboy now, bringing an awesome and welcoming energy to every program he runs.
