Calling all art enthusiasts! The painting and drawing program allow campers to have complete flexibility over their creativity. In the morning, the teacher will explain the painting and drawing topics of study for the day, and the campers will be given the choice to focus on the skills of painting or drawing for the morning period. Campers who are participating in the full day program can take full advantage of what Landon has to offer by participating in both the painting and drawing program each day.

Daily topics will include:

Meet our Staff:

Michael Carter graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in secondary education, while also spending extra hours in the sculpture studio creating metal sculptures and three-dimensional assemblages. In 1981, he joined Landon School as a teacher in the art department where he taught design and art history in Middle School, and currently teaches sculpture, drawing, and architectural design in the Upper School. Mr. Carter has had the privilege of teaching many talented Landon students in our studios and is always excited to witness their artistic growth and genuine aesthetic engagement.

Fun fact: Mr. Carter spent 20 years leading art focused European trips for Landon students and continues to explore Europe on his own.
