Landon’s Preschool Day Camp (PDC) has provided summer fun for boys and girls through creative, stimulating, and purposeful age-appropriate activities. Campers spend time outside enjoying Landon’s beautiful campus and participate in instructional sports, water play, nature walks, and free play on the playground and in the sandbox. Indoor activities are designed to encourage friendship, team spirit, and social awareness and include drama & movement, music, DEAR, art, and science. Special theme weeks offer a variety of crafts, science, and maker activities and assemblies are held on campus throughout the summer. We are proud to offer a five-to-one camper-to-counselor ratio. Our staff’s enthusiasm, skill and experience with young children are paramount to the camp. A knowledgeable and qualified teacher, an assistant teacher and a junior counselor comprise the team for every group. Campers are grouped by age and friend requests will be accommodated when possible.

Campers must be 4 years old by June 10, 2024. Before camp begins, all campers MUST be fully toilet trained and have graduated from training underwear. Please see Landon Summer’s Toilet-Trained Policy and definition. Landon Summer reserves the right to dismiss campers who demonstrate that they are not toilet-trained to the standards of the policy.

Meet our Staff:

Naveena began working at Landon twelve years ago as a lead teacher for the Giraffes in Preschool Day Camp and is entering her third summer as Director of Preschool Day Camp. Naveena earned a bachelor's degree in human relations and master's in teaching from Trinity University (DC), including a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Race and Equity with excellence in Education from McDaniel College. Naveena has spent over 20 years teaching for Montgomery County Public Schools and can't wait to return to Landon to spend another summer with us!

Fun fact: Naveena is married with three children whom she enjoys spending time with and watching shows on Netflix!

Amy was born in Poughkeepsie, New York and moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland when she was 3 years old. She earned her bachelor's degree in early childhood education at the University of Maryland. Amy started her career teaching Pre-K and First Grade in Prince George's County. She eventually transitioned to MCPS where she taught First Grade and then moved over to teach Reading Initiative. Amy earned her master's degree in Reading Education from Bowie State University and will be starting her 26th year in MCPS.

Fun fact: Amy loves playing with her adopted chocolate lab, Java, rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers, listening to music, watching shows, and visiting with friends.
