Algebra I Online

One six-week session
June 20-July 29
9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Rising 8th through rising 10th graders

$1,300

The goal of this class is to provide an equivalent full-year study of first-year algebra to students wishing to prepare a foundation for advanced high school coursework in mathematics or to preview that material in preparation for the upcoming school year. Students should expect to have their reasoning abilities challenged while they enhance their abilities in the mechanics of the class. Through a small classroom environment, this thorough course in algebra covers linear and quadratic expressions, positive and negative exponents, and rational expressions and radicals. Assessments include daily quizzes, midterm exam, and final exam. No homework will be assigned, except for studying for the midterm and final exams.

Course Credit
This class is eligible for credit pending approval from the student’s school. It is important to confirm with your child's home school that credit can be earned for this class. Given the accelerated pace of this class, each day is equivalent to one week of class during the regular school year. Therefore, absences can be detrimental to a student’s progress and grade. Students who miss three or more class days will no longer be eligible to receive course credit.  Please complete the Course Credit Release Form and return to the Landon Summer office prior to the start of the course in order to earn credit.
