Join Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven as they embark on a new journey to find out more about Elsa’s powers in this magical dance camp! The adventure is filled with amazing new songs, beautiful dancing activities, costumes and adorable crafts. A final performance on Friday at 12 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. will give the ballerinas a chance to show off all of their hard work.


Superhero Dance Adventure

Campers will become amazing superheroes through training and dance! Your brave superheroes will discover their superpowers while dancing to their favorite songs, hero activities, crafts, costumes and props! Every superhero will also learn how to work together to solve a problem, how to spot a supervillain and how to use their powers responsibly. Together the superheroes will save the world through dance! With great power comes great responsibility! A final performance on Friday at 12 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. will give the dancers a chance to show off all of their hard work.


Rapunzel’s Tangled Ballet

Join Rapunzel as she prepares to become the Princess of Corona in this dance camp! The adventure continues along with Flyn, Maximus and Pascal and is filled with magical songs and dancing from the hit movie and TV series, activities, crafts, costumes and props. We will discover magic in the land of Corona in this thrilling and beautiful week of dance. A final performance on Friday at 12 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. will give the dancers a chance to show off all of their hard work.


Pop Star Hip-Hop

Arrival/dismissal zone: Blue

Campers will learn beginner hip-hop style dances choreographed to the music of their favorite pop stars. We’ll teach them the moves to dance on stage like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Madison Beer and One Direction. The final day of camp features a dancing showcase on Friday at 11:30 a.m. or 3:30 p.m., where family and friends will marvel at what campers have learned in one short week!


The Fantastic World of Dance

Do you love the contemporary routines and superstar performances on World of Dance? Here is your chance to interpret movement with feelings, emotions and style. In this camp taught by Washington, D.C.’s hottest dance technicians, you will learn lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop and jazz using popular ballads and contemporary music. This amazing week ends with a spectacular camper showcase on Friday at 11:30 a.m.


Descendants Dance Adventure
July 6–10 WAITLIST

Get ready to groove with your favorite Descendants characters and all of their hit songs in this fun-filled week of dance and exciting activities! The adventure continues with Mal, Evie and Uma as your camper will learn funky dance moves, make adorable crafts and get to dress up as their favorite villains! Join the magic of this thrilling dance camp! This amazing week ends with a spectacular camper showcase on Friday at 11:30 a.m.


Cheer and Tumbling

Rah! Rah! Rah! Your cheerleader will have the time of his/her life learning cheers, motions, chants, drills, stretches, jumps and a high-energy cheer dance with pompoms. This fun week also features daily tumbling. We will focus on developing strength, coordination and flexibility as well as mastering skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, bridges, limbers and splits. Camp ends with a rockin’ spirit-filled Cheer Show on Friday at 11:30 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. under the big lights!


Broadway Bound

Your budding Broadway entertainer will learn exciting routines to hit Broadway musicals such as Aladdin, The Lion King, Newsies and Annie. Campers will spend this fun-filled week learning age-appropriate songs and dances that are currently playing on Broadway. Each day is filled with an energizing dance warm-up, Broadway routines, and acting games and exercises. This super fun-filled week concludes on Friday at 11:30 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. with campers singing and dancing in a mini Broadway revue!

Instructor bios:

Miss Allie is a master teacher and choreographer, who has danced professionally with the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. She received her BFA in Dance and Choreography in 2007 from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has performed in The Nutcracker ballet in various roles, Waltz of the Flowers, Arabian, Snow Scene, Mice Party Scene and Mirlitons. She has also danced routines in Sleeping Beauty and Giselle. Ms. O’Hare’s vast experience and passion make her an exceptional talent for teaching young children dance. Joy of Dance is thrilled to have Allie as its dance manager, instructor and choreographer!

Miss Tiffany tours with MC Hammer as the lead dancer and choreographer. She performed “Gangnam Style” at Times Square on New Year’s Eve 2013 with Psy. MC Hammer and Ryan Seacrest. She has also performed at the AMAs, the BET Awards, and the MTV Music Video Awards. She is a dynamic, fun and very exciting hip-hop teach­er who loves to teach all ages. When she is not on tour, Tiffany teaches master classes for our Outreach Classes. She is also the director of the Hip-Hop Department at Joy of Dance.

Company bio: Joy of Dance promotes the highest quality of fine art instruction in a loving, caring and joyous artistic environment. Our fine arts faculty members, all masters of their fields, encourage each student to reach their maximum potential in the arts. As students grow and become increasingly proficient in their study, their poise, self-assurance and confidence will soar! The Joy of Dance syllabus is an introduction to the joys of dancing that integrates the Royal Academy of Dance pre-primary and primary ballet syllabus.
