Transportation FAQs

What are the exact locations for each bus stop?

Which weeks can I use the bus?

Our buses operate for 6 weeks, from June 21–July 30.

How do I register for the bus?

You may register through your Landon Summer online account. You will be able to select a route, stop, and morning and/or afternoon option. Reservations must be received by noon on the Friday before your desired week in order to guarantee a spot on the bus. Registration for the bus is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. When a route reaches full capacity, wait lists are established.

How old does my child have to be to ride the bus?

Bus transportation is available for rising Kindergarten through rising 10th graders.

Can my child ride the bus just in the morning or afternoon?

Yes, during the registration process you may select morning and/or afternoon bus transportation.

How long do the buses wait at each stop?

Buses are only allowed to wait 4 minutes at each stop in the morning and the afternoon because of traffic regulations. It is EXTREMELY important that you are at your designated bus stop on time. The buses cannot wait past the posted times.

If my child’s camp starts later than 9 a.m., what will he/she do until the camp starts?

Campers will be included in our Early Morning program, free of charge, until their camp starts.

If my child’s camp ends before 4 p.m., what will he/she do until the bus leaves?

Campers will be supervised by our bus transportation staff until the 4 p.m. departure.

What happens if I am late to the bus stop in the morning or afternoon?

If you miss the morning bus, you will need to drive your child to camp. If a child is not met by an authorized pickup person in the afternoon, that child will be driven back to campus on the bus and brought to LAP, where appropriate fees will be assessed.

What happens if I need someone else to pick up my child at the bus stop?

Campers must be met at the bus stop in the afternoon by an authorized pickup person. Your dashboard sign is proof that you are an authorized pickup person and must be shown to the bus counselor in order to retrieve your child. You may give your dashboard sign to another pickup person of your choice or add an additional name to your authorized pick up list.

What if I only need to use the bus for a few days during the week?

Please call or email the camp office to make these arrangements so that we can make sure all campers are dismissed to the proper place. We do not prorate our bus rates.

Can my child bring his/her bike on the bus?

Unfortunately, bikes are not allowed on the bus. Campers who are in our American Inline Bike Riding camps must be driven to camp on Monday and picked up on Friday.
Ride the bus, Gus!
