Yoga? Mindfulness? Journaling? Walking? Oh my! There are many different coping techniques that allow you to disconnect from stressors and reconnect to your center. Often, we get caught up in our daily routine and get overwhelmed with all that is expected of us. The intention of this week is to expose campers to different activities to help them relax, alleviate stress, and most importantly, calm their minds, bodies, and souls. Each day will start with yoga in the Perkins Garden, followed by a mindfulness technique for the day. This includes tasting different kinds of herbal tea, practicing mindful meditation, walking in nature, and daily journal entries to promote a sense of calm. We will also visit Little Valley Stream Nature park and Great Falls for our nature trail. The campers will receive a handout each day to summarize the technique they studied to promote more frequent practice and to allow them to share their new knowledge with family and friends.
