Join us as we explore the magical realm of fairies! Campers will explore all aspects of fairy life in literature and popular culture. We will read books that feature fairies, create fairy artwork, and design and construct fairy houses as gifts for our tiny friends. Gardens are magical places - especially when there are fairies to be found! We will take a field trip to a local garden to see real fairy houses to gather inspiration for our own designs and learn more about their secret world. Our fairy houses will feature natural materials (preferred by fairies) so we will take nature walks around Landon’s beautiful campus and gardens to collect building and decorative materials. Each camper will take home their very own fairy house at the end of the week.
Teacher bio: Ann Liu is the Middle School Librarian at Landon. She loves hiking in beautiful areas, walking local trails with her dog Flashie, hanging out with her kids, playing ice hockey and participating in all types of fitness activities. And, of course, she enjoys reading great books!
Fun fact: As a child, Ann wanted to be a cowgirl when she grew up. She can rope a goat or calf while riding horseback.
